3.85m/13FT Island Inflatables Boat: Wood Floor, Australian Designed, Quality Build, Thermo Welded Seams
IW385 – 3.85m Island Inflatables Boat
The 3.85m Island Inflatable Boats with wood floor is the largest in the Island Inflatables’ range. With two bench seats and plenty of space, it’s best suited as a day or touring boat for soaking up the sun and exploring waterways.
Designed to Be Durable
Island Inflatable boats are designed in Australia, manufactured using a process called High-Frequency Thermo Welding, often abbreviated as HFTW. HFTW is a manufacturing process where two parts are welded together using an electromagnetic field.
The resulting join is very strong and durable, so these seams are perfect for Australia’s often harsh conditions. Thanks to our HFTW process, you’ll never have an Island Inflatable seam come apart on hot days. Our welded PVC boats will outlast those made with glues and adhesives that can fail on those hot summer days or after multiple inflations and deflations. All Island Inflatables also come with an over-inflation valve as standard. This helps with those hotter days too and increased air pressure.
But it’s not only our manufacturing processes that make Island Inflatables the #1 selling privately owned brand in Australia though. All of our boats are designed in-house by the Island Inflatables team. Many other brands buy ready-made boats at trade fairs and then add their own branding before listing them online or selling them in-store.
Made from Quality Materials
Island Inflatables use the heaviest grade of PVC material possible – the next step up are those used in the armed forces! We use grade 1100 D-teck denier with a 0.9mm thickness for a lightweight and portable inflatable boat that can handle plenty of knocks. Additionally, on the underside of each oversized tube, we apply a second layer of PVC material. This helps when dragging or launching your inflatable boat off a beach. It gives that extra layer of protection from any hidden rocks or shells.
When it comes to transoms, quality is key. That’s why Island Inflatables transoms are constructed with marine ply coating, epoxy coating, rubber sealing on top, an internal and external outboard mounting plate, as well as a one-way bung that allows you to remove the bung and drive the boat to remove any excess water under the floor. You’ll always get the functionality with Island Inflatables and years of use out of your inflatable boat.
Similarly, we believe that you can tell the quality of an inflatable boat by its tow rings. Located at the front of the boat, you’ll see that the IW385 boat has a large heavy-duty stainless steel tow ring, which is mounted on an equally large and reinforced mounting patch. Lesser quality boats will always use a smaller ring and patch with no reinforcing, which can lead to premature wear and tear.
As part of our commitment to ensuring you get the most out of your Island Inflatables boat, we have taken special care to protect your boat against wear and tear. This includes adding non-marking protection strips around the side and under the keel to reduce the damage of impact, such as bumping against your yacht.
The Perfect Colour Scheme
You shouldn’t overlook the aesthetics when choosing an inflatable boat. At Island Inflatables, our 3.3–4.3m models are popular day boats. With this in mind, we have used a light grey colour for a sleek look and improved functionality. The grey easily hides marks and dirt, but it isn’t dark enough to absorb the heat of the sun, so your boat stays cooler during the day.
